How to get support coordination?

Get extra support on your side and live the life you want

To get the help of a support coordinator, ask for it to be included in your plan at your planning meeting. But before that, it’s worth taking the time to note the reasons WHY you need the extra support, so you are well prepared.

The NDIS recently allowed people to access their plan funds flexibly to pay for a support coordinator.

How to get a support coordinator by using your NDIS funds flexibly?

In response to COVID-19, the NDIS introduced a range of temporary measures to make sure people could continue to access their essential disability supports. Part of this was the inclusion of new line item numbers that allow participants to use their funds more flexibly to access support coordination from either their Core or Capacity Building budgets.

If you don’t have support coordination funded separately in your plan, but you’d still like extra help, you can use Core Supports budget to access this service.

Or if you, do have support coordination included in your plan, but need additional hours because you have used all of your Capacity building funds, you can also use your Core Supports budget.

These are the line items your support coordinator can use.
