Stage 4 restrictions are now in place for metropolitan Melbourne to help slow the spread of coronavirus in Victoria and save lives. These changes were introduced to reduce the number of people leaving their homes and moving around Victoria.
For businesses, there is some confusion about how these restrictions impact on them continuing to provide services to NDIS participants.
It’s important that people with disability are still able to access the supports and services they need to maintain their health, wellbeing and safety.
If you are a registered NDIS provider, you can refer to the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission coronavirus (COVID-19) information on their website to understand your obligations.
Permitted activities / workplaces
To find out what is permitted under the stage 4 restrictions for your business or industry, visit the Department of Health and Human Services website.
The information about permitted workplaces under the Health Care and Social Assistance sector describes that All community services and the necessary support services that enable their functioning are permitted, including Disability services.
Permitted Worker Scheme
If your workplace is part of a permitted activity and you require your staff to visit a work site, you must issue them with a worker permit. To find out how to issue a permit visit the Coronavirus Victoria website.
Further to this, permitted workplaces have until 11:59pm on Friday 7 August to implement their COVID Safe Plan.
