More about Home Carers Direct
Home Carers Direct is an online platform connecting people seeking home care or disability support directly with vetted, suitably qualified, and insured, care and support workers in their community. Their system is designed to provide choice and control while not compromising on safety.
The process of using Home Carers Direct is as simple as Search, Connect, Book.
Search: the platform is designed so you can search for, and find, workers within a postcode or suburb. You can filter results based on various things such as qualifications, languages, etc. and view profiles which show additional information about the workers such as their availability, hourly rates, and more.
Connect: you can message workers directly to chat or arrange a call or interview or you can proceed straight to requesting a booking.
Book: in a few clicks a booking is created and you will be able to manage your bookings, payments, invoices, reports, and documents, from your dashboard keeping everything simple and in one place.
There is no joining or exit fee and you can use the platform as required without any minimum spend requirements. Also, workers using Home Carers Direct set their own hourly rates. And as of 26 February 2020, the average hourly cost (including the 5% Home Carers Direct hosting fee) is $33 for Domestic and Social Care and $32 for Personal Care.
All workers are vetted by Home Carers Direct. This process includes national police record checks, qualification checks, referee checks, and short phone interviews. They also require that all workers provide them with government-issued photo identification.
The Home Carers Direct system features automated controls to prohibit carers from offering on their profiles services they are not suitably qualified to perform (e.g. transport without a valid driver licence), to disallow bookings where the care recipient is a child and the carer does not hold a valid WWC check, and to remove any profile where the carer’s police record is more than 2yrs old. This means clients can focus on finding the right support worker to suit their needs.
Workers are covered by public liability, professional indemnity, and personal accident, insurance for bookings arranged and paid for via the platform.
